Christmas in Australia is during high summer and is often scorching hot. While we can’t play in the snow, and it’s hard to enjoy mulled wine on a 35 degree day, you can make your home smell like Christmas by making a stove-top potpourri simmer pot.

Christmas simmer pots, or stovetop potpourris are so easy to make. Just mix up a few of your favourite ingredients and simmer them away on your stove. Your home will be filled with a delicious aroma and you’ll be feeling festive in no time.

Orange (sliced)

Cinnamon Sticks

Fresh Rosemary / or a sprig of pine

Whole Cloves

Simply place all of the ingredients into a pan and simmer on very low heat on the stovetop. As the water begins to evaporate, keep topping up the pan with more water. We recommend using this method once or twice a week to keep your home smelling and feeling super fresh and clean. The liquid can also be cooled and decanted into a glass spray bottle and spritzed around the house as a handy room freshener.
