We understand why many people would want to add colour to a room without painting it. That's because paints mean a big commitment, plus living with the choice for a long time. There's always the risk of either not loving your chosen colour or getting bored with it.

Thankfully, there are other ways to introduce hues to any room, in a more flexible and non-permanent manner. But that doesn't mean your home has to be vanilla and boring.

Check out our easy and cost effective tips for adding vibrancy to your interiors.

Pop art

A great piece of art can really “pop” in a living. It doesn't have to dominate the space but can give the room ambience and personality. You can use anything from a contemporary print to an artisanal wall hanging.

Fancy furniture

A beautiful piece, such as a stunning coffee table, bold lamp shade or occasional chair, are common choices to give a living area a stamp of luxury.

Rug up

Flooring is a facet of a home that doesn't get much attention. Adding a stunning rug can bring a room to life and add warmth.

Cushy number

Colourful throw rugs and cushions can lift a room quickly and cheaply. If you can match them to the floor covering, so much the better.

Pot luck

Pot plants in various colours and patterns has got to be the easiest and most affordable way to add a splash of colour to your home. And, best of all, you can have fun with different looks because if you change your mind down the track, it’s as easy as repainting or replacing them to give them a whole new look!
